Terms and Conditions
Hi there 👋
These Terms & Conditions exist to make sure we’re both on the same page — no awkward surprises, no crossed wires, no “but I thought that meant…” moments.
By working with Direct Digital, booking a service, or purchasing a plan, you’re agreeing to the terms below. They’re written in plain English on purpose.
1. What We Do (and Don’t Do)
Direct Digital provides services including:
-
SEO (search engine optimisation)
-
AI search visibility & readiness
-
Website optimisation and improvements
-
Website builds and updates using WordPress and our preferred themes. If your website uses a platform or theme we do not support, we will provide general guidance only on website redesign and page layout.
-
Copywriting and content optimisation
The exact work we do depends on the plan or service you choose. If it’s not listed in your plan, it’s probably not included — but you’re always welcome to ask.
2. Communication (How We Keep in Touch)
-
We mainly communicate via email (because paper trails are our friend).
-
We usually reply within 2–3 business days.
-
Calls, strategy sessions, or check-ins are included only if your plan says so.
-
Please keep communication respectful — we’re humans, not robots (yet).
Timely replies, approvals, and access from you = smoother results for everyone.
3. Payments (The Awkward but Necessary Part)
How billing works
-
All prices are in AUD.
-
Monthly plans are billed in advance and recur automatically.
-
One-off services are paid before work begins unless agreed otherwise.
Late or missed payments
-
If payment fails, work may be paused until things are sorted.
-
Ongoing non-payment may result in services being stopped altogether.
Refunds
-
Once work has started, refunds aren’t available.
-
Digital services involve time, thinking, planning, and doing — not just deliverables.
4. Cancelling a Monthly Service
-
Monthly plans require 14 days’ written notice to cancel.
-
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
-
No refunds for partial months (even if you cancel mid-cycle).
5. Revisions & Scope Creep (Yes, It’s a Thing)
-
Revisions are included only where your plan allows.
-
Revisions must relate to the original brief or agreed task.
-
New ideas, new pages, new directions = new scope (and possibly a new quote).
If something’s out of scope, we’ll tell you — no sneaky invoices.
6. Copywriting (Read This Bit Carefully ✍️)
We offer copywriting, SEO copy, and AI-optimised content as part of certain services.
Here’s how that works:
-
Copywriting is collaborative — your feedback matters.
-
Copy is written to be clear, useful, SEO-friendly, and aligned with your brand. We will supply you with our Brand Voice booklet to complete so that we can learn your Brand Voice..
-
We do not guarantee:
-
A specific tone “feeling right” without revisions
-
Conversions, sales, or engagement
-
- We need specific feedback. If you tell us, "I just don't like it" we can't work with that.
-
Final approval of copy is your responsibility.
If you approve the copy and later change your mind, further edits may be quoted separately.
7. Your Responsibilities (Yes, You Have Some Too)
To do our job properly, we need you to:
-
Provide accurate business information
-
Own or have permission to use any content you supply
-
Give us access to relevant tools (website, hosting, analytics, etc.)
-
Respond to questions and approvals in a reasonable timeframe
If things stall on your end, timelines and results may be affected.
8. SEO, AI Search & Ranking Reality Check 🔍
No magic wands here
We do not guarantee:
-
Google rankings
-
AI search placement
-
Traffic numbers
-
Leads, sales, or overnight success
Anyone who promises that is… being optimistic at best.
What we do guarantee
-
Ethical (white hat), best-practice SEO and AI search optimisation
-
Work aligned with current industry standards
-
No dodgy tactics, keyword stuffing, or spammy shortcuts
Search engines and AI platforms change the rules whenever they feel like it. We don’t control them — we adapt to them.
9. Warranties & Limitations (The Sensible Stuff)
-
We promise to deliver services with reasonable care and skill.
-
We don’t promise perfection, instant results, or zero hiccups.
-
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we’re not liable for:
-
Lost income or profits
-
Business interruptions
-
Data loss
-
Indirect or consequential losses
-
In short: we help your business — we don’t run it.
10. Ownership & Intellectual Property
-
Once you’ve paid in full, your website content and intellectual property are yours, including all login details.
-
Our frameworks, processes, templates, and methods stay ours.
-
We may showcase work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to (just say so).
11. Third-Party Tools
We use tools like analytics platforms, SEO software, hosting providers, and plugins. We’re not responsible for outages, changes, or issues caused by those third parties. Some plugins are paid. We will pay the first year's costs. You will be responsible for ongoing costs, as well as hosting and domain provider costs.
12. Confidentiality (Because Trust Matters)
Anything private stays private unless:
-
You give permission, or
-
We’re legally required to disclose it
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The latest version on our website always applies to ongoing services.
14. The Legal Home Base
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be handled under Australian law.
Final Word
We believe good digital work comes from clear expectations, honest communication, and mutual respect.
If something’s unclear — ask.
If something changes — tell us.
If you’re unsure — we’ll talk it through.
That’s how we like to work 😊
