At our core, each and single one of us wants to change the world.
It might be in a big way, or a small way, but in the end that is what all of us want. To make some small, or large, mark on the universe.
We may want to do it by running a charity, starting a business, writing a book or by raising our children, who are, after all, the next generation who will soon be in charge of the world.
Here is how I want to change the world.
Now it’s your turn. If there was one thing you could change in the world, what would that be?
I made this video back in 2012 as part of my first video challenge with Michelle Holmes. If you haven’t discovered Michelle, I urge you to check out her website and subscribe to her mailing list. My ideas about business and what I wanted to do have shifted significantly through taking part in her video challenges and interacting with fellow challenge takers. Working with fellow women entrepreneurs has brought so much clarity into my business life. I would love for you to experience the same.

Your one thing is truly impressive.
I think I would like to eliminate greed. So that no-one felt the need to stock pile things which they didn’t need (just in case). Resources, money, land, ego… I think, I hope, that with less greed the world could only be a better place. For us, and for the other species we share it with.
Beautiful Dorothy! It’s so great to see you sharing this video publicly! 🙂
I am so grateful for the shout out at the end of the post too!
Thank you beautiful lady! 🙂 I’m going to see the Dalai Lama in July, if I happen to attract the opportunity of speaking with him I will ask him to share one thing that every woman can do to fulfil his prediction that the western woman will save the world! 🙂 And then maybe you can help me share the message? x
I will have to head back when I’m on the computer to see the video. Would love to have you come and do a guest blog at Agent Mystery Case when it launches later this month.
when you truly think of it, I believe that women would survive the longest with out men in the world as opposed to the opposite.
I also think that things need to be different between the two sexes as we are truly different and play totally different roles, I am quite happy to put my career goals aside, for just a while, to raise the kids and then get back into it when they don’t need me as much.
Certainly, we should be valued the same as men as we couldn’t survive life without us to keep our generations going.
As for my one thing…….
I just want people to learn to respect each other more and slow their pace down to enjoy the small things – often the most significant – and enjoy their journey and people around them rather than racing to the end. It is the people in our lives that make the difference!
I don’t for one minute think that equality is either possibly or desirable. Men and women are different; we compliment each other. We have differences that set us apart – God knew what he was doing!
As women, we are conditioned by society- the older you are, the stronger that conditioning is – to take second place to men. Equally, men have been brought up to assume responsibility for their family. The last few decades have seen massive change in these ‘rules’ and my generation is largely responsible for this. I do personally never liked, nor believed in Women’s Lib. You see, the problem is so many women tried to be ‘equal’ and in doing so smothered their femininity and lost a lot of their true Feminine Power in the pursuit of being ‘equal’.
We woman are blessed with hidden depths, power that lies within and which, when we know how to tap into and use that power graciously and ethically, gives us The EDGE. The real power comes from BEING in our feminine energy, that makes us magnetic, that allows us to get attention without ‘fighting for it’, and definitely beats trying to be like men. And when we are able to turn that Power on at will, we light up the world around us. We draw people to us; are listened to; we can bring about change without force, without fear, without creating any feelings of threat in the men in our lives. We are BEING the Goddess: LIVING the Change we want to see in the world.
And I still like men to offer old fashioned Chivalry. I love it when a man opens a door for me; carries my bag at the Airport, walks on the road side of the pavement to protect me. And I believe men like to do these things – to be the gallant Knight. A smile and word of thanks from a Goddess goes a long way to helping them feel good. And then they go about their day feeling a huge boost to their self esteem, which has a knock on effect.
So, as I go about changing the world, I intend to teach women how to BE in their feminine power, how to tap into and use their inner presence and power to become magnetic and influential. A great set of skills to have access to – and they’re hidden within every woman.
What a lovely video – and hear hear!
Great video! I think if I had the chance to change one thing in the world it would be the stigma around mental illness, so that mental health treatment is more accessible for everyone. It’s so sad that it’s often too late before we realise that a friend or family member has been struggling, too afraid to speak up.
